Everyone in this field have noticed about abrupt changes in TBPR and PR expression across all GG datacenters during the night of 24-25 October ,surprisingly ,most  (pagerank) value of many sites dropped! .Lots of people ,from East to West ,from PR1 to PR 10 sites complain about such a widespread drop of pagerank ,for example:

• Apple.com from PR10 to 9
• phpBB.com PR8 to 6
• Statcounter.com PR9 to 6

What’s happened ? .I can not tell you exactly what’s up until all DC PR settle ,and then try to analyse again for the explanations.As of now ,the evidence that link buying or selling cause this penalty has not been backed by any evidence like in Techcrunch article.

The best explanation likely to be

1. Such a widespread drop of PR is from adjusting with dilutional effect from much more websites in the universe (PR everage of every sites in the universe =1) Just increase the threshold of some factors , then PR is settle in lower level ,with higher threshold to pass to another level.
2. Banned by another algorhythm , the “link farm” theory, is just the best way to explain widespread and unified pattern of blog networks’ penalty.

We still need more evidence based data , or even the best will come from the GG blog itself..

   It is very hard to determine how GG update their PR algo. By the way, GG will lose something in return.
