I am sure he is right, what he fails to say is what they do use. I upload videos and cant even find them myself so dont expect others to find. Often no matter how many people upload an item one or two same names always come up in the search. Try typing in a Gospel song and see one name every where, Why is that.

I have another question. What about rich snippet? Maybe you don t use metatag keyword content but you ll need some rules in order to evaluate the information…
The name is not metatag keyword or subject content but …whatever de name is…

Good points for web designers … I do believe some other engines do take those into consideration still though so good to put some in as you pointed out in discription etc.

Maybe it’s just me being confused here. Required? From what I can see in the HTML spec no meta tags are _required_.

“User agents are not required to support meta data mechanisms. For those that choose to support meta data, this specification does not define how meta data should be interpreted.”

Anyways, I’m just saying that there is still a lot of meta tags that can be useful (not only for SEO), so I don’t agree with your statement “Forget meta tags i say.”.

  10. almightyvegeta87 says:

only meta description and keywords are required
out of which keywords tag is ignored by Google

  11. teddyzetterlund says:

You do realize that there is _loads_ of other useful meta tags, right?

  19. almightyvegeta87 says:

Finally, we got a definite answer.

Keywords meta tag is not required et all
    and
Description Meta tag is just for snippets, no impact on search engine rankings.

    Forget meta tags i say.

I post a lot of tutorial videos on my wordpress blog, and I add tags to each post so search engines know what they are about. Are they effective at all? Should I trouble to write an article to each one of them? Say-Web, Jerusalem
